Smiles on Souris makes Root Canals easy!
What is a Root Canal?
A root canal is required when the pulp of a tooth or the nerve has been damaged. This often occurs due to severe tooth decay. No one ever likes the idea of having to undergo a root canal but it is often the only solution other than having the tooth extracted and if you do need one, you want to ensure it is done right! One good thing about a root canal is you will no longer experience any tooth pain. A root canal will often take two or more appointments depending how extensive the damage is to the tooth. At these appointments, the dentist will evaluate the condition of your tooth, remove the damaged pulp and then seal the area.
After the root canal, the dentist will most likely suggest putting a crown over the tooth to prevent any further tooth breakage. This is especially necessary if there was extensive restoration done. Dr. Konotopetz has extensive experience in performing root canals and quality work and the comfort of his patients is a top priority.
